When I heard that Lily was leaving for an extended trip and possibly the country, I felt it neccesary to do another shoot with her before she left. Since I hadn’t worked in a real studio with her, I tried to find a studio in Oakland that I could use for the shoot. I found a small adequate space here at Beardley Photo.
Lily seemed a bit melancholy (maybe she was tired with working with me), but she still rose to the occasion and pulled off an amazing number of poses and put up with a lot of light changes and me generally fumbling around. We first worked with some shadows (something I’ve been trying to get right for decades it seems like). I think we go some resonable results. Here’s a sample:

We then went on to do some work with a white backdrop. Here is what that looks like in setup.

With images that turn out like.

We then went back to try bathtub work again. Here’s what that looks like.

With results like.

And finally, the oil and water thing that I can’t seem to get enough of.

With results like:

Which is shot shooting straight at the wall of light.
That was pretty much it. I haven’t got through all the images yet since I had a second shoot two days later with Maria. I’ll be blogging that shoot soon
Lily is a fantastic model. She has a lovely figure, knows how to pose, and is willing to go the extra mile to get the shot. We originally had an idea to shoot in an old abandonded building in Point Richmond, but when we got there there was a bunch of toxic waste cleanup guys in white suits pulling out asbestos…not a really good idea for us to go in there.
Instead, we went out to Ferry Point at the Miller Knox Regional Shoreline. We shot in an old derilict building at the very point:

We then shot in the right hand building first

And finally by a very cool window looking out over the bay. We had to be careful since there were guys out fishing on the pier:

We then hopped down below by the coast and shot a few shots there

Then, it was time to move to a new location. We took a short hike up on to the hill overlooking the bay.
View Larger Map Lily hopped up into a tree…so naturally, I had to take some photos!

There were some lovely flowers, so we shot some there as well.

Finally, we went over to the bulb:

There we found some cool rebar an sticks!

And, finally some pretty flowers

I also throught the way her dress looked on her was lovely, so we tried some shots with the dress.

Then…it was time to end the shoot. Lily informed me at this shoot that she was going to be taking a road trip and eventually ending up in Ecuador! Bummer…so…I had to schedule one last shoot before she left! More on that later.
So…here’s a quick finish to the Kneely shoot. I’ve done three shoots since then and really need to catch up.

Ok, so for the Kneely shoot, I’m just going to show the shots from each location listed on the previous post.

There was one final location not show on the map on the way out.

Kneely Rocks!
So, I’m going to start writing post shoot blog entries so I can remember these wonderful times in my old age…
So, I went to death valley to do some nature shoots, but also wanted to do some nudes. I found a wonderful model named Kneely who lives in Las Vegas who was up for some outdoor nudes. I decided it would be better if I came her way so we agreed to shoot at Red Rock Canyon.

We hiked up into the Calico Hills. Here are some google earth images of the general location.

I’ll go through each spot and tell a little story…
